My 12 year-old daughter, Jordan, began playing piano at 4 years of age and transitioned to Irina when she was 7. With each subsequent year, Jordan has been challenged with music notations in classical, jazz and contemporary pieces. With Irina, music education is relevant, challenging yet enjoyable. And amazingly, Jordan owns this process; she wants to continue to learn from Irina (even with the demands of private school and club sports). Twice-yearly recitals, one informal and the other formal, are opportunities to understand the students' past culmination of work. Interesting to note, when Jordan began instruction with Irina, we were invited to a event that showcased a dozen local piano instructors.
