Irina Carrenca has been teaching piano to children and adults, for over 30 years. Many of her students won awards in piano competitions and festivals. She teaches students beginning to advanced levels, integrating Technique, Theory and Interpretation at every level of playing. You will gain an understanding of the history behind the work that is being study. Students will learn all the skills needed to be able to play, from note reading and rhythm understanding to how to practice properly. Irina shares her enthusiasm and her passion of the instrument as well as her love for music with each student.
Irina Carrenca is a professional pianist with experience as a soloist and in Chamber Music. Trained at the Buenos Aires Conservatory of Music in Argentina, where she received her Bachelor of Music, in Piano Performance.
She has received numerous awards in Piano Competitions in Buenos Aires and in the United States. She has concertized extensively as a soloist and with Chamber Music Ensembles. She has been a Faculty Member at the San Francisco Community Music Center where she taught piano and ensemble for eleven consecutive years as well as a Faculty Member at Allegro Music School in Foster City/San Carlos.
Member of the Piano Teachers Federation, Music Teachers Association of California, San Mateo Branch and a Participant of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
